This is a home from home in one of the most beautiful places you can imagine. The moment we walked through the door we felt relaxed, welcome and extremely comfortable. Given that Harris is one of the most stunning places on the planet, if I say that we could have easily spent our time being cosy in the house and admiring the endless views from every window, rather than go outside, you’ll get a sense of how nice it all is. But we didn’t, and its the perfect place from which to explore. Helen has thought of absolutely everything you might need for your stay and more and could not have been more helpful as a host. The house is full of really nice touches, from its decoration, great art and photography on the walls, three sofas (we had one each!), to the fire with well-stocked coal, brilliant kitchen and the honesty box whisky! The drive to the house is breathtaking, and if you only remember one thing bring binoculars — most mornings started by moving rapidly from the front to the back of the house following eagles, deer and the ever-changing light over the mountains that surround you. It’s heaven and I can’t wait to go back as soon as possible. Oh, and seeing as we’re still in the midst of the dreaded covid, rest assured that the house is spotless!
