6 Reviews on “Kintaline House”
We really enjoyed our stay at Kintaline House. The house was wonderfully spacious, appealingly designed, impeccably clean, and fitted out to the highest standard, especially the kitchen. It was tastefully decorated and full of the owner’s family’s books and objects d’art.
We were there in July so didn’t need to use the heating much, but the heating system was fully available and working when needed for our elderly parents, and there was plenty of hot water for washing, using a number of environmentally-friendly systems. There was a proactive approach to good environmental practise and recycling. The owner was friendly and helpful throughout our visit and tactfully allowed us to have our own privacy.
Outside, the secluded garden was equally impressive with corners for quiet sitting to admire the restrained plantings or bird feeders; and a larger lawn area with table and chairs and barbecue equipment. There was no farming, commercial, or hospitality noise during the day or night, just light traffic on a nearby minor road, so there was always a peaceful and calm atmosphere.
By the end of the week, we felt it had been a privilege to experience Kinatline House and use it as a base to explore the beautiful and fascinating surrounding region.
I stayed at Kintaline House for a family holiday at Easter this year, and we really enjoyed our time there. It’s a beautiful space – big and airy (whilst still being warm), with lots of lovely personal touches (local eggs and produce!). Jill made us feel very welcome. We went for some beautiful walks – hills and coast – and spent the rainy days in Oban (the Oban Inn happened to have some brilliant folk music). I would highly recommend Kintaline House!
My daughter and I enjoyed our week In Kintaline House. The house and garden were beautiful and well maintained. Benderloch feels rural, with beautiful countryside nearby, but is still handy for Oban with all its amenities.
Was delighted to spend 4 very enjoyable nights at the beginning of June in this beautiful house. There really wasn’t anything Jill had not thought of to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. The house is light, welcoming, spacious and beautifully appointed.
We especially liked the welcome pack, the extensive local info and the little thoughtful touches such as the gorgeous tiny local soaps!
The covid measures in place were meticulous and very reassuring.
There’s so much to do and enjoy – would have loved more time to appreciate more of the huge range of local attractions on offer.
Highly recommended!
Gorgeous home from home. Have stayed there a couple of times now and will be back. The house and gardens are lovely, and Jill is a great host – there’s not a thing she hasn’t thought of! The welcome gifts of local produce are a wonderful extra touch, and you can’t beat Kintaline eggs!
The location is a fantastic base for exploration both north and south, and it is nice to get back to your home from home at the end of the day.
The thoughtful little extra touches put Kintlaine house head and shoulders above similar stays, and I can’t wait to go back!
We had a great week staying at Kintaline House. The house was very clean and well equipped, and very spacious. We enjoyed the beach (some of us even swam!), canoeing on Loch Creran, walking in Glen Ure – where we watched a pair of great spotted woodpeckers feeding their young – and relaxing in the garden.
We only eat out once, at the Oyster Inn at Connel, but to be honest, both the service and the food were disappointing.
I’d recommend staying at Kintaline.
